This married couple came to our office after deciding to settle down in Canada with their kids.

The husband is Canadian, and the wife is American. They decided that Canada is a better country to raise their two children. They hoped that the application can be approved swiftly, so they don’t need to be separated.

The hardest part of their application is that neither have a Canadian job or income. They only have U.S. income.

So, we asked the husband to get his employer to allow him to work remotely going forward, which the employer agreed. We examined the employment letter and ensured it says the husband may work in Canada remotely, and that he would continue to receive income from his U.S. employer.

We also did an in-depth analysis of the wife’s education and work experience, and made strong arguments to IRCC that she will very likely find a job in Canada once she is authorized to work.

After all that detailed preparation, their spousal sponsorship was approved in 3 months! The wife now has Canadian PR status and can stay with her husband and children indefinitely in Canada.

They were really happy, as they didn’t need to be separated from each other, nor from their children.
